Future Society Design

Program Overview

Future Society Design is an interdisciplinary major program that explores what the future of our society should look like and what is fundamentally required for the sustainable future of humanity.

To design a better future society, the program investigates current global challenges and dilemmas. Students will concurrently acquire knowledge in economics, management, sociology, and law, alongside engineering solutions such as social infrastructure and next-generation technologies, all of which are essential for effectively resolving these real-world issues.

Educational Objectives

Through an interdisciplinary curriculum bridging economics, management, sociology, law, and engineering, Future Society Design aims to cultivate future-oriented leaders who can integrate pluralistic perspectives from diverse stakeholders to drive a sustainable and just societal transformation.

Our primary goal is to nurture talented professionals capable of establishing a comprehensive vision and proposing multidisciplinary solutions to the hyper-complex, grand challenges of the 21st century. These include climate change, the AI revolution, the industrial and energy transition, low birth rates and aging societies, balanced regional development, and sustainable cities.
